Jackson Health System is an integrated healthcare delivery network with more than 9,000 employees. It has been a central provider of medical services and healthcare leadership for residents of Miami-Dade County and beyond for nearly a century. Owned and supported by the taxpayers of Miami-Dade County, it is governed by the seven-member Public Health Trust Financial Recovery Board under the auspices of the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners.
- In fiscal year 2010, Jackson Health System had more than 280,000 patient visits
- In fiscal year 2010, Jackson Health System spent more than $700 million to care for uninsured and underinsured patients in Miami-Dade County
- Ryder Trauma Center is the only trauma center in the nation chosen by the U.S. Army for military surgical training
- Holtz Children' Hospital has the largest Level III NICU in Florida and is continually recognized for expert neonatal care
