Holtz Children’s Hospital is home to the Schatzi Kassal Project: Newborn Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, one of the largest and most well-regarded facilities in the nation dedicated to infant care.

Operated and staffed 24 hours a day in conjunction with the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine, the 126-bed unit offers premature and critically ill babies the necessary attention and top specialists needed for developmental growth. A large nursing station, dedicated pharmacy, computerized x-ray viewing areas and a parent counseling room allow for patients to receive state-of-the-art treatment, while their families can meet with their doctors comfortably and privately.
