Jackson Miracle-Building Bond Program
Tropical Storm Erika Update
Jackson Health System is open for business and operating as usual.
In early November of 2013, more than 65 percent of Miami-Dade voters supported Jackson’s new bond program. We couldn’t have achieved this great milestone without the public’s overwhelming belief in our mission and vision. For that, we would like to extend our deepest appreciation and gratitude.
Over the next several years, visitors will see significant change in Jackson’s appearance. We have a number of major projects in the works that will modernize all of our facilities, helping to continue our mission of providing a high-standard of care to all patients.
Most of the major projects will be completed in the next three to five years. Plans include renovating almost all patient units, emergency rooms and operating rooms, building urgent-care centers in many neighborhoods throughout Miami-Dade County, constructing a new children’s ambulatory center, replacing our world-class rehabilitation hospital and replacing roofs, elevators, air handlers and windows. We will also make significant investments in equipment and IT systems.
This is a new era at Jackson – one in which visitors can look toward the future with great optimism. Again, none of this would have been possible without your endless support throughout this transition period.
