Special Accomplishments

  • We are all individual specialists in psychiatric treatment. We have all worked very hard to decrease our seclusion and restraint use on all the units.
  • We have also decreased the risk for patient falls through the use of patient risk indicators.
  • We have recently implemented ways to identify high risk for suicide patients and developed ways to assess, monitor and document how the patient feels about suicide, as well as document and perform room searches daily that help eliminate contraband or items that may be used for suicide.
  • We increased the frequency in which we perform rounds on every unit to every 15 minutes. Also all plastic disposal bags were removed from patient rooms or areas where they are accessible to patients.

Size & Type
Each adult behavioral unit has 20 beds. ADI, BT1, HP-4 and BT2 treat patients with acute psychiatric illnesses, ages 18 to 54. Geriatric treats ages 55 and above and HRC is an acute medical detoxification unit treating ages 18 and above.

Organizational Structure
Our organizational structure follows the Shared Governance model. It is made up of nurse managers, nurses, MHTs, unit secretary and others as needed.
