Special Accomplishments
The psychiatry UPC along with the staff, implemented the pilot study "Stop, Look and Listen", a Crisis Intervention Education Program and reduced Code Grays by 50%.

Our philosophy is that we must work together as a team to change our unit culture and the entire JHS culture of psychiatry to provide improved services to the community during hardships being endured from the economic decline, and to participate in research to improve Evidence Based Practices.

Size & Type
The unit has 28 beds in the Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Unit and a psych ER Triage/Baker Act Receiving Facility.

Organizational Structure
The Associate Director supports the Shared Governance model with the UPC that is comprised of an associate nurse manager, clinical staff nurse, mental health hospital specialists, clinical social workers, unit secretary and activity therapist.
