Special Accomplishments
NSICU is unique to South Florida with its 24 hour availability of neurological and critical care specialists.NSICU offers innovative, cutting edge treatment modalities that are evidenced-based such as Intracranial Pressure (ICP) and Brain Oxygen Monitoring, Hypothermic treatments, Microdialysis and Electroencephalography (EEG). Our nursing staff is made up of highly trained professionals who specialize in the treatment of the critical neuro-surgical, neuro-vascular, neuro-medical and neuro-trauma patients with stroke, aneurysms, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, seizures, brain tumors and other neuromuscular disorders such as multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and Guillain Barre syndrome. NSICU meets rigorous requirements and is part of Jackson Memorial Hospital's Comprehensive Stroke Center, ranked #29 for neurology and neurosurgery in US News Best Hospitals 2010-2011.

81% RN;  14.8% CCRN and 5% CNRN certified; 13% MSN; 42.6% BSN

Organizational Structure
Our organizational structure follows the Shared Governance Model which is made up of the nurse manager, associate nurse managers, nurse educator, clinical staff nurses, PCTs, Unit Secretary and others who practice and participate in patient and family centered care.
