MLK Business Expo

This free community event showcases nearly 100 businesses and provides attendees the opportunity to speak with experts on South Dade area products, government agencies and their respective services, real estate, personal finance, tax breaks, and much more. Jackson will provide information about our services to the South Dade community. Live music, raffles, giveaways, and refreshments will be available for event goers.

West Perrine Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Parade

The West Perrine MLK Parade has become a popular event that features dignitaries, decorative floats, area businesses, and electrifying performances by the Grand Bahamas Junkanoo Band and The Royal Police Band. Join us at the parade and cheer us on as our Jackson ambulances pass you by!

West Perrine Marching Band Extravaganza

This event features the distinguished sounds, moves, and grooves of some of South Florida’s finest high school marching bands. Special guests include the acclaimed Florida A & M University Marching 100 Rattler Band and the Bethune Cookman University Marching Wildcat Band. Jackson is supporting this great community event and providing goodies to all attending.

Zo's Family Health & Wellness Groove

Jackson is partnering with The Mourning Family Foundation to bring our community a day of activities such as a 5K run/walk, health screenings, mini sports clinics (football, soccer, basketball), fitness classes, presentations, food demonstrations, and interactive zones with bounce houses, obstacle courses and rock climbing. Stop by the Jackson booth to receive a free jump rope and information on how you can be healthy in the New Year.

Gay8 Festival

Gay8 is a Hispanic LGBT art, music, and food street festival in Miami. This festival blends all of South Florida’s delights into one gigantic party in the heart of Miami’s historic Little Havana. 40th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade in Liberty City

Miami joins in this federal holiday with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade in Liberty City. The parade takes place along Northwest 54th Street on a route from Northwest 12th Avenue to Northwest 32nd Avenue. It ends with a celebration at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Park, 6000 N.W. 32nd Court Parade-goers will enjoy music from high school marching bands, and a caravan of cars and fire trucks carrying local community leaders. For a Caribbean Miami twist, Carnival dancers will take it to the streets in a colorful dance and music performance. Join us at the parade and cheer us on as our Jackson ambulances pass you by!

New World Symphony Yoga Mornings

Calling all yogis! Yoga Mornings at the New World Symphony is a monthly outdoor community vinyasa yoga series at Miami Beach SoundScape, in front of the New World Center. Hospital Disaster Planning, Preparations and Response Symposium

Join us for the Sixth Annual Hospital Disaster Planning, Preparations and Response Symposium: An All-Hazards Approach on February 17, 2017 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL.

The symposium is jointly provided by Jackson Health System and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Symposium Objectives
At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be:

• Examine Orlando Regional Medical Center response to Orlando terrorist shooting in June 2016
• Explain the planning for and response to chemical contamination of emergency departments and personnel.
• Explain hospital preparedness and response for emerging infectious diseases.
• Explain the behavioral health effects of active shooter incident.
• Explain tactical and operational medicine: civilian austere medicine case studies.
• Examine words of wisdom for hospital planning and response to pediatric diseases.
• Explain Miami-Dade fire rescue/EMS protocols for interacting with Miami-Dade County hospitals
• Explain the role of our RDSTF and health care coalitions in management large scale disasters in Miami-Dade County and South Florida.
