Jackson Helps to Make Going Back To School a Little Easier

This summer, Jackson Health System helped kids and their families get ready for the new school year.

Jackson hosted back-to-school wellness fairs throughout South Florida to provide free pediatric immunizations and physicals, school supplies, adult screenings, and more. From North Miami all the way down south to Kendall, and everywhere in between, Jackson teamed up with the Florida Department of Health, Simon Malls, Immanuel Temple Church, Kiddos Magazine and a variety of commission districts to help make the events successful. We also partnered with Miami-Dade County Public Schools to provide folders and pencils for classes in need of some extra supplies.

More than 3,000 community members attended these fairs throughout the county, with over 400 screenings, immunizations, and physicals performed. Hundreds of school supplies, such as folders, pencils, rulers, and bags were distributed as well. Both adults and children enjoyed these wellness events and were well-equipped and ready to start the new school year healthy and happy.
