Jackson Mentor/Protégé Development Program

The groundbreaking Jackson Mentor/Protégé Development Program was designed to offer highly qualified certified Miami-Dade County small business enterprise-construction (SBE-C) firms the opportunity to be mentored by industry leaders in healthcare construction management services. The program is monitored through the Miami-Dade County Small Business Enterprise (SBE) program, and by an advocacy manager working on our behalf through AECOM, the program manager for the Jackson Miracle-Building Bond Program.

Each protégé worked alongside a construction management firm contracted with Jackson Health System to build one of our signature projects. Protégés were mentored in all aspects of the healthcare construction management services industry, including, but not limited to: management and delivery functions performed on capital development projects; healthcare construction industry planning, scheduling, management, and field operations; and the management of subcontractors, scheduling and other tasks.

Business Outreach

With voter’s approval of the Jackson Miracle-Building Bond Program in 2013, the seed for our $1.7 billion capital plan, Jackson Health System embarked on an ambitious outreach effort to connect with community organizations representing Miami-Dade County’s small and diverse businesses. Jackson is committed to expanding that outreach and assisting small businesses in their pursuit of contracts.

Our Jackson staff not only joins, participates in, and listens to the concerns of these organizations; we help you learn about our mission, opportunities, success stories and how business is conducted with one of the nation’s largest public hospital systems.

As Jackson continues to expand its outreach efforts to the community, we have included our own Outreach Roundtable. During each roundtable, construction managers and Jackson leadership provide organizations with progress updates of the projects as well as vital dates for pre-qualification events for subcontractors.

Materials for these events, including agendas, presentations and sign-in sheets are available in this location.
