In celebration of April being National Minority Health Month, Jackson Health System partnered with many community organizations to set up health fairs in different parts of Miami-Dade County. The first health fair was held on Saturday, April 18 at the New Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church and featured a farmers market, kiddie village, and job fair. Jackson Health System was on hand to provide free health screenings, including body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, and cholesterol.

Gracing the halls of the hospital are selected works from the students of The Learning Tree of Arts, an art studio in the area that has been serving children for 18 years.
