These FAQs are designed to provide a better understanding of everything that you need to know about CPR Day Miami.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrange to arrive at your training site 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled time to allow for check-in and orientation.

What location and time should I choose?

We have selected seven locations throughout Miami-Dade County in different communities for your convenience. Trainings will be held at 90 minute intervals. To find a location nearest to you, please click here.

What should I wear?

Make sure to wear comfortable clothing. Part of the CPR training will occur on mannequins placed on the floor, so please dress accordingly.

Will there be food available?

Individual school sites may have food for purchase where proceeds will benefit booster clubs. Otherwise, food will not be available. Water will be provided.

How long does CPR training take?

You should plan to spend a little more than 90 minutes at your site of choice. You will view a video that lasts approximately 20 minutes prior to practicing CPR compressions with a trainer.

Will I be CPR trained or certified?

CPR Day Miami will be training citizens to perform CPR in the event of an emergency. This CPR training is designed to provide you with enough information and skill to properly administer CPR to someone until emergency help arrives. Full certification takes approximately four hours and will not be provided on this day. If you are interested in CPR certification, please contact your local Red Cross Chapter or the American Heart Association.

Can I register at the event?

Online registration is required in advance for CPR Day Miami, to cut down on waiting time and to better serve participants. There will be a stand-by area at the location of your choice, but spots not guaranteed. Register in advance to guarantee a spot with your friends and family!

Can I bring children?

CPR training is recommended for individuals ages 11 and older. There are no accommodations being made for infant or child care. Little ones are welcome, but under adult supervision.

Will there be parking available?

All sites will have adequate free parking. Once you arrive, there will be signage directing you where to go.

How will I know where to go once I get there?

Upon arrival, there will be signage for parking and greeters that will help you get to the registration area.

Are there opportunities for volunteering or sponsorship?

If you are a student at one of the high school training sites, please contact your guidance counselor for more information.

Do I need to bring anything?

Please bring a form of identification to confirm your registration. Once you select your time and training site online, you will receive a confirmation email. We ask that you bring a print out of that email or be prepared to display it on your mobile phone.

Other languages?

The CPR training video will be in English. However, for the physical training, there will be volunteers on hand who can assist in other languages.

Will there be both infant and adult training?

At the five Miami Dade County Public school sites and the University of Miami site, there will be infant and adult mannequins to practice CPR on. At the Red Cross site, training will be administered only on adult mannequins.

Can I participate if I have physical limitations?

Accommodations will be made for persons with limited mobility. Just ask any volunteer and they will be able to asist you.
