COVID-19 Frontline Workers to Receive Surprise Donation at Jackson Health System
Hawks Cay Resort Gifting Two-Night Stays to Healthcare Workers as part of their Heroes Salute Program
For the past eight months, frontline healthcare workers at Jackson Health System have been working tirelessly to treat patients suffering from COVID-19. Many of them have not been able to take time off to be with their loved ones, but thanks to a generous donation from Hawks Cay Resort on Duck Key, some of these healthcare workers will receive the gift of rest and relaxation at this beautiful resort in the Florida Keys.
On Tuesday, 50 healthcare workers, including nurses, respiratory therapists, and laboratory technicians, – chosen by their supervisors for going above and beyond during the pandemic – have been scheduled for a mandatory training. Instead, they will be surprised with gift boxes containing a gift certificate for a two-night stay at Hawks Cay Resort.
As part of Hawk’s Cay Heroes Salute program, which is a seasonal program that celebrates and honors healthcare professional as well as other first responders and military, the resort made the donation to Jackson Health Foundation, valued at $40,000.
