Quick stroke diagnosis is the key to saving lives. Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability in the United States, according to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. On average, someone in the U.S. suffers a stroke every 40 seconds; someone dies of a stroke every four minutes; and 795,000 people suffer a new or recurrent stroke each year.
Having the ability to quickly provide the correct and best treatment can mean the difference between life and death. That’s why you can take comfort in knowing that Jackson Health System has specialized stroke teams ready at a moment’s notice 24/7 to offer the latest, most comprehensive treatments to ensure the best chance of a full recovery. Backed by our expertise in neurology and neurosurgery, stroke services are offered at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Ryder Trauma Center, Jackson North Medical Center, and Jackson South Medical Center.

The stroke team at Jackson Memorial Hospital is comprised of expert stroke physicians and surgeons – neurologists, neurointerventionalists, and neurosurgeons – from the University of Miami Health System, working alongside highly-skilled Jackson nurses, therapists, technicians, social workers, and case managers who specialize in stroke care. The team routinely delivers groundbreaking and innovative medical treatment for stroke patients. With these resources, the Jackson Memorial stroke team is considered a leader nationally in stroke care.
