Interview with Natividad Soto, President

How did you first learn of the opportunity to work with Jackson Health System?

About 25 years ago, Ferguson Glasgow Schuster Soto (FGSS), Inc. responded to an RFQ advertised by Miami-Dade County Procurement for a continuing services contract for small projects.  We were offered an opportunity to contract with Jackson Health System and it has been a great working relationship since.

What has your experience working with Jackson been like?

It is a pleasure to work with Jackson.  The staff is professional and dedicated to the mission of providing state-of-the-art health care to our community. We find it very fulfilling to contribute to that mission.

What services do you provide?

FGSS, Inc. provides professional architecture and interior design services.  We bring to Jackson our expertise in medical facilities design.  Our design team has designed modernizations of several patient floors at Jackson Memorial Hospital in the West Wing, Central and East Tower buildings.

Why is it important for Jackson to do business with local small business enterprises like yours?

Local SBEs like ours reflect the diversity of our community. It is important that Jackson’s business relationships support and reflect that diversity. Doing business with local businesses also puts our tax dollars back to work in our local economy, instead of sending it outside Miami-Dade County.

How has your business grown from doing business with Jackson?

Our experience with Jackson has allowed us to establish relationships with other local hospital facilities. We have also been able to collaborate with national architectural firms on larger projects at Jackson.
