Dr. Guerra is an established physician at the Miami Transplant Institute (MTI), a unique affiliation between Jackson Health System and UHealth – University of Miami Health System. As medical director of MTI and the Living Donor Kidney Program, Dr. Guerra focuses on integrating medical services, improving outreach, and coordinating public relations. Additionally, she plays a key role in reviewing and restructuring patient flow, and helps organize and implement quality assurance projects. Dr. Guerra also holds the position of associate professor of clinical medicine at the UM Miller School of Medicine, and her dedication to MTI’s kidney-specific programs has been recognized both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Guerra earned her medical degree in 2000 from the Universidad Central del Caribe. She finished her residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in 2003 and then completed nephrology and transplant fellowships at the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital in 2005 and 2006. Dr. Guerra is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology.
