JACKSON HEALTH SYSTEM ENDS YEAR WITH A SURPLUS

Carlos A. Migoya Updates Media on Jackson’s Transformation

Carlos A. Migoya, president and CEO of Jackson Health System

For the first time since 2006, Jackson Health System has achieved a surplus for FY 2011-12. The system earned nearly $1.5 million of excess revenue over expenses, reversing last year’s loss of $81 million and ending total losses of nearly $430 million since Jackson’s devastating financial crisis began in 2007.

Jackson Health System President and CEO Carlos A. Migoya will discuss Jackson’s progress with the media and be available to answer questions.

24, 2012, 2:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Jackson Memorial Hospital
Ira C. Clark Diagnostic Treatment Center, Room 254
The corner of Northwest 12th Avenue and 19th Street
Miami, FL 33136

Why:

This positive step in Jackson’s transformation is the result of many factors, including a reexamination of the health system’s operating expenses, a restructuring of the JMH Health Plan, a reduction in personal expenses and an improvement in cash collections.
