Children who receive health care at Jackson facilities will kick off the summer with a “Summer Blast-Off Party,” featuring fun activities, including a bounce house and waterslide. There will also be snow cones, hot dogs and other delicious treats.
The party is sponsored by Becker & Poliakoff Helping Hands, Inc., a public charity that helps hospitalized children, their families and others, year round. During the holidays, Becker & Poliakoff delivers toys to pediatric patients at Holtz Children’s Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. The efforts are spearheaded by Becker & Poliakoff shareholder and attorney Lee Weintraub and his wife, Gina, a Broward County teacher, whose infant daughter, Morgan, survived treatment for life-threatening retinoblastomas – cancer of the eyes.
Following Morgan’s successful treatment at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and Holtz, Becker & Poliakoff attorneys, staff and the firm’s clients joined forces in 2001, to raise tens of thousands of dollars to fund the annual delivery of new toys, games and electronics to children and their families in need.
