What:
|
Jackson Memorial Hospital is hosting a grand opening celebration of its newly renovated West Wing 15, a patient unit with all new features, a hotel-like atmosphere, leading-edge equipment, 25 private rooms, a physical therapy room and amenities for patients, families and visitors. The latest renovations will welcome patients from the Miami Transplant Institute, a joint program between Jackson Memorial and UM.
The renovations cost approximately $3.5 million, with the project funded by Jackson operating revenues.
All suites include flat-screen televisions, hotel-style safes, pull-out couches for loved ones to sleep comfortably, and new, stylish bathrooms. A family lounge, free Wi-Fi, a physical therapy room with equipment, and a VIP package experience for $150 are among the additional amenities in the unit.
The renovations on West Wing 15 ensure that rooms have an appearance that lives up to the global reputation of the Miami Transplant Institute, which is led by Rodrigo Vianna, M.D., one of the world’s most experienced multi-organ transplant surgeons.
Over the last year and half, Jackson Health System has reinvested in its facilities by completing long overdue renovation projects, including the modernization of several patient floors at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Holtz Children’s Hospital and The Women’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial. All of these renovations are being done with patient and family comfort as the goal.
