What:

Jackson North Medical Center will celebrate the dedication of its surgical center in honor of its former chief administrative officer, Sandy A. Sears. Mrs. Sears had a distinguished career for 39 years at Jackson Health System, and retired in 2014 after leading Jackson North for more than seven years.
Mrs. Sears has long been considered a role model for community service To honor her; the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution R-646-14, renaming a signature portion of the hospital in her honor.
The dedication will recognize her immeasurable contributions as leader in health care, public service, and civic leadership. The plaque unveiled at this ceremony will subsequently be moved to the new surgical center being built at Jackson North, one of the signature projects in Jackson’s capital plan.
