Back To School Wellness Fairs

As summer drew to a close and the start of a new school year became everyone’s focus, Jackson Health System was prominent throughout the community, aiding people in gearing up for the first day of school.

Jackson hosted a series of Back To School Wellness Fairs throughout South Florida to provide free pediatric immunizations and physicals, school supplies, adult screenings, and more. From North Miami all the way down south to Kendall, and everywhere in between, Jackson teamed up with the Florida Department of Health, Simon Malls, Jackson Health Foundation, and a variety of commission districts to help make the events successful.

“Jackson is committed to serving its community, keeping individuals healthy, and providing great care and education,” says Andrea Thomas, Senior Director of Business Development and Physician Services for Jackson North Medical Center. “Throughout the years, we have maintained our commitment to the community through the Back To School Wellness Fairs hosted around town.”

More than 2,000 community members attended the fairs, with over 200 screenings, immunizations, and physicals performed. Several hundred school supplies, such as folders, pencils, rulers, and bags were distributed as well. The wellness events were a huge hit and ensured both adults and children were well-equipped and ready to start the new school year healthy and happy.
