Two Additional Urgent Care Centers To Open Next Year
Earlier this year, Jackson Health System announced its first two urgent care center sites (Country Walk and Arch Creek/North Miami Beach), both of which are part of a larger initiative that will bring Jackson’s world-class health care to communities across Miami-Dade County. We are now excited to share the news of two additional centers in Miami Beach and the Town of Cutler Bay.
The Miami Beach center will be located in the heart of South Beach, at 615 5th Street. The property is also large enough for an innovative partnership we are finalizing with UHealth – University of Miami Health System, which would complement Jackson’s urgent and primary care with its own multispecialty clinic. This new location would bring the medical expertise of UHealth and Jackson closer to the thousands of people who live, work, and visit Miami Beach each day.
The other new site, located at 18910 South Dixie Highway in Cutler Bay, will be the southernmost outpatient center in the Jackson network. Like the other sites, the Cutler Bay site will offer extended hours and walk-in care.
The Miami Beach and Cutler Bay locations are scheduled to open in August 2016. Lease expenses will be funded from Jackson’s annual operating budget and capital improvements and construction efforts will be funded from the Miracle-Building Bond Program.
We plan to open four to eight more urgent care centers throughout the county in the coming years, with additional locations to be announced in the future. Members of our Jackson family have been working to identify strategic locations for the centers – focusing on areas that lack access to the existing Jackson network of hospitals, are underserved by urgent care facilities, or are heavily populated with too much demand to be met by existing facilities.
