#PinkParty at Miami International Mall
Jackson Health System participated in Miami International Mall’s Pink Party to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness on Saturday, October 24.
Shoppers at the Doral mall stopped by the Jackson table to learn about breast health services available throughout Jackson Health System and its clinics. Instruction booklets with details on how to properly perform breast self-exams were distributed.
Over the next several years, Jackson will grow its footprint in communities throughout Miami-Dade County with the opening of urgent care centers and other facilities, including Jackson West, a 26-acre site in Doral that will house an adult and pediatric emergency room, a children’s ambulatory pavilion, and a 100-bed hospital. Services at Jackson West, located on Northwest 25th street just west of the Palmetto Expressway, are anticipated to begin in 2018.
Among the perks at the #PinkParty event were make-up demonstrations, hair styling, Simon Malls gift bags, pink phone car chargers, raffle prizes, pink cocktails and fall fashion tips by local stylist Stephanie Pernas.
This Jackson community outreach was possible because of a collaboration of Simon Malls’ Mission Pink events along with the Susan G. Komen® organization, which has led a global movement in the fight against breast cancer since 1982.
