Jackson Health Welcomes the International Society for Burn Injuries
Jackson Memorial Hospital recently welcomed the International Society for Burn Injuries 2016 Congress, a conference in Miami for international leaders in burn care. Held every other year in a different international destination, the conference provides medical professionals with a forum to learn about the latest techniques in burn care and share ideas with peers from around the world.
One of the highlights of the conference was a tour of Ryder Trauma Center, home to the world-renowned University of Miami Burn Center. More than 100 doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals attending the conference visited Ryder Trauma, met members of our multi-disciplinary burn team, and learned about the innovative techniques we use to treat our patients.
“We are proud of our advanced technology, the innovative care we provide, and our excellent clinical outcomes at the Miami Burn Center,” said David Zambrana, CEO of Jackson Memorial Hospital, who welcomed the visitors. “Our inter-professional team approach to burn care is second to none, with a team of highly-trained doctors, working alongside nurses, therapists, and psychologists specialized in treating patients with complex burn injuries. To be able to showcase what we do so well before an international audience of leaders in burn care is a great honor.”
