Eligibility
- Some specialties, like Emergency Care, may require certifications such as ACLS & PALS
- Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
- BSN degree is preferred.
- Nurse Residency Program requires graduation from an accredited nursing program by ACEN or CCNE.
- Valid Florida RN license is required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.

Yes, candidates must have a current active license through the department of health.
It depends on the business needs; normally Jackson Memorial Hospital participates in every cohort.
Yes, all residency candidates must sign a 36 month contract agreement.
Specific residency positions may be posted on the career site based on operational need.
Yes, if the specialty is outside of the nurse’s expertise, for instance, med-surg / home health/ nursing home nurse interested in ICU, the nurse is required to complete ICU residency.
