Meet Dr. Brett Fortune: Leading the Future of Transplant Care at Miami Transplant Institute

Dr. Brett Fortune serves as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Miami Transplant Institute (MTI), a unique affiliation between Jackson Health System and UHealth – University of Miami Health System. In addition to his executive leadership role, he is an active member of the liver transplant team. Dr. Fortune is a nationally recognized transplant hepatologist with extensive experience in liver disease and transplant operations. Prior to joining Jackson, he served as Medical Director of Liver Transplantation at Montefiore Einstein and played a key role in building and leading premier liver transplant and hepatology programs. An elected Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and the American Society of Transplantation, Dr. Fortune is committed to advancing clinical innovation, multidisciplinary care, and research in liver failure, cirrhosis, and transplantation.
