About
Daniel Nento, MD, is the chief of pediatric and congenital cardiac surgery at the Congenital Heart Center at UHealth Jackson Children's.
When a child is born with a heart condition, families need more a skilled surgeon they can trust. Dr. Nento is that person. He specializes in caring for newborns, children, and adults who were born with heart defects, guiding families through some of the most important moments of their lives.
Dr. Nento trained at two of most prestigious heart programs in the United States — Boston Children's Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic — so families can feel confident their child is in exceptionally capable hands. He performs a wide range of complex heart surgeries, including operations on newborns, minimally invasive procedures with smaller incisions, valve repairs, and care for adults who were born with heart conditions. He is also specially trained in heart transplantation and ventricular assist devices — therapies that can be life-saving for children and adults with heart failure.
Dr. Nento leads a dedicated team of pediatric heart specialists, nurses, and caregivers who are all focused on one goal: giving your child the best possible outcome. He speaks both English and Spanish, so more families in South Florida can feel heard, understood, and at ease.
At UHealth Jackson Children's, we believe every family deserves world-class heart care, and Dr. Nento is a big part of how we deliver on that promise.
