Jackson Health System Celebrates Hospital Week: The Virtual Experience

Frontline Healthcare Workers Set to Begin their Week to a Hero’s Salute

National Hospital Week celebrates the importance of hospitals and healthcare workers across the nation. Now more than ever, this observance takes on a very special meaning, giving everyone an opportunity to celebrate the important role our hospitals and frontline healthcare workers play to support the needs of our community during the pandemic. To celebrate our hospitals and frontline workers, Jackson Health System is launching a series of virtual experiences.

On Monday, May 11, our frontline healthcare workers and other staff will begin their work week with a Hero’s Salute. To show their gratitude, leaders from across the health system will safely stand at hospital entrances and give staff members a hero’s salute as they’re coming into or exiting their work locations.

The virtual celebration will continue throughout the week. On Tuesday, staff can find some little inspiration by listening to Miracle Maker Music. Staff can listen to three different healthcare heroes’ playlists on Spotify.

On Wednesday, staff will get to relax through Moments of Mindfulness. The stress associated with being a miracle maker can be big, and Jackson created resources to help them practice self-care when needed. We will host live guided meditation session via zoom from 1 to 1:30pm.

On Thursday, staff will get to move a little and Jacks-ercise! They can tune into Live Zumba sessions, Live-At-Home HIT Workout sponsored by AvMed, and ADAPT – free daily workouts on YouTube channel.

To culminate the week-long celebration, staff will be treated to a LIVE Virtual Rooftop Party from 11am to 2pm via Zoom. The three-hour live virtual rooftop party will be hosted at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Staff can tune in to watch a live DJ set and messages from celebrities, Jackson executives, and local personalities, all set to a Downtown Miami backdrop.
