Price Transparency

Federal regulations require all hospitals to post detailed information about the charges for various services and supplies that could be billed to a patient’s account. Jackson posts this document in accordance with those rules, but it is not generally an effective way to estimate what you will pay for medical care at Jackson.

Why not? The basic pricing schedule, known as a “charge description master” or “chargemaster,” does not take into account the different rates negotiated by insurance companies, including private coverage, Medicare, and Medicaid. Those rates differ by insurance company, and are reported in another spreadsheet. But even those rates do not take into account specific elements of your plan and personal healthcare consumption – you will likely pay only a share of these rates via deductibles, co-payments, or co-insurance. And patients without any insurance are often eligible for charity care, payment plans, or cash discounts.

Jackson proudly provides free, confidential, customized price quotes for hundreds of our most popular services through our CareQuote program. Click here for more information about CareQuote or to start the process now.
