New frontiers in emergency care begins at Jackson

Now open, Jackson Memorial Hospital’s new emergency room was built from the ground up, doubling in size from its current footprint. This more than 178,000-square-foot facility brings together innovation and expertise designed to set a higher standard for emergency care.

A $400 million transformation is setting the stage for one of the nation’s most advanced adult emergency care facilities.

Now open: Faster, smarter care

  • 60 general exam rooms and four resuscitation rooms — more rooms for our team to deliver life-saving care
  • Six triage and 12 fast-track rooms — designed to cut wait times so patients get faster care
  • Second-floor for patient care, with 50 observation rooms and seven acute care rooms — giving patients a safe space to recover and be monitored without hospital admission
  • Full radiology suite onsite — MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound without leaving the emergency floor
  • On site pharmacy — faster access to critical medications

Coming soon:

Phase two: Expanding capacity and specialized care
