Jackson Health System Celebrates A Century Of Miracles
June 22, 2018
On Monday, June 25, exactly 100 years since opening its doors, Jackson Health System will celebrate a century of creating miracles in our community. During its centennial celebration at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Alamo Park, hospital leadership, along with employees, and community leaders will bury a time capsule, which contains historical artifacts that represent the history and evolution of Jackson’s first 100 years. Among the 16 items in the time capsule to be opened on Jackson’s bicentennial in 2118: a letter from Jackson President & CEO Carlos A. Migoya to the future CEO, a commemorative centennial challenge coin, and a photo from 1920 of founding physician, Dr. James M. Jackson. The celebration, which will bring together retirees, former patients, and current employees, will also include food, entertainment, and a cake-cutting ceremony.
